I've written and built a couple of different shapes here in the hopes that those shapes would make a good basis for my instructions. A few of those patterns I've done are my usual pattern "A-Harmony", and these make up for the rest of them by adding a little extra detail and/or shading on top of the pattern.

For the more popular patterns (like my "A-Harmony") just do the following things:

Add a bit of shading to your pattern in the exact shape to suit your needs.

Change the patterns if needed in a hurry.

Here's what you need to work on:

A little extra texture:

To make a straight line make a small step on the outside of the pattern to help it stretch.

A little extra stretch of the pattern:

I've only used this for the "A-Harmony" pattern, but I am making it as a smaller part of my pattern.

As you will see in the picture, this stretch works just as well for my A-Harmony pattern as my version.
