It is harder on your nails, because acrylics are anchored onto your real nail, so to speak; but gel is more of a softer approach to having the same look as acrylics but they don’t last as long (in my personal experience). I’ve been doing the acrylic with gel color for about 4 Years now and probably couldn’t do regular polish again on my acrylics.I had acrylic and over time they became weakened.
