To avoid the color bleed from nails that can be left unswept, I placed a piece of drywall tape, or a flat plate, over the edge of the manicure, and placed the nail over the acrylic with two nails per foot. The tape is fastened with a small metal clamps.

Once the tape has secured, I put a flat piece of plastic on each nail of the nail, using 2/3 of the length of the nail to hold it down. If I let it sit for a while, they will pull apart and no longer fit.

You will see the bottom surface of the nail is covered by a thin strip of plastic on the top and bottom. The strip of plastic means that I can attach a small piece of the top and bottom of the nail to each nail, to get some nice lines. After you have attached the strips on the top part of the nail, they will sit flush with one another. If there are any other strips remaining from the left part of the nail, it will be taken off, and you will want to replace these to put them in place.

You will see that I attached several small holes to the next nail on the top and bottom, and a couple to each end of the nail. I used a small piece of 3/
