The process of developing this tutorial has its pros and cons, but the advantage is it'll not be hard to do for your project, it's a simple thing to do yourself, and can help you with any art project. The benefit to be gained should be that it will give you ideas for the perfect finish in your project. So it is a great tool for most hobbyist artists as well.

My main reason to apply it is to get some inspiration that will not only be a fun distraction, but also make your projects stand out. Maybe at first, you'll get the hang of it later on. In the end, I believe if you do it right, and you make it practical and worth it, you may make great art projects right from the beginning!
