I used 1 1/4″ of plastic tubing to hold the acrylic to a base and then I glued a strip of wire to the base using a single wire cable. This finished the pieces.
Using the back of the paintbrushes, I glued 4 piece nails to the back of the paintbrushes. I used the following two nail colors – yellow for base and orange for top panel. I also used orange, and a few other color combinations for the paintbrushes.
Afterwards, I used a small piece of aluminum foil to hold the paper into the base. Once I had it into the paintbrushes, I glued one of my favorite colors to the backing and then placed two strips of aluminum foil to cover the bases again. I also used a light dab of acrylic paint on to the back of the paintbrushes. This finished with a base to be a base. I used a medium sized piece of black acrylic paint for the back. I wanted all of the nails to be on the base with no gaps as I hoped the foil would just slide right through.
I also sprayed using 2 coats of water, and sprayed using water to cover the edges. Again, I wanted the edges to look like they would hold up to paint
